Job summary

Responsibilities
  • Plan, implement, teach, and evaluate components of the Nursing Professional Development, Staff Development, and Patient Education programs for the Nursing Department.
  • Develop and oversee Nursing Orientation and continuing education programs.
  • Participate in developing Nursing Service policies and procedures as a team member.
  • Assess educational needs of nursing staff in collaboration with management.
  • Design educational offerings with clear behavioral objectives aligned with departmental goals and standards.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs against established objectives.
  • Serve as a liaison to vendors providing in-service education on new equipment.
  • Act as a role model and internal consultant, maintaining clinical and educational competency.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with Nursing staff and other departments.
  • Maintain relationships with regional professional organizations supporting Nursing education.
Qualifications
  • Current Registered Professional Nurse license in New York State.
  • Master's Degree in Nursing required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in an acute care hospital setting.
  • Proficiency in MS Windows (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • American Heart Association BLS Instructor status preferred.
