Job summary

Nursing Education Specialist (NES) at Mayo Clinic in Phoenix works with Department of Nursing staff to assess, plan, implement and evaluate educational activities including orientation, continuing education, and competency programs.

You will collaborate across units, serve as learning facilitator, change agent, and mentor, and act as a champion for Nursing Professional Development, supporting practice transitions.

Qualifications

• Master’s or doctoral degree in nursing or an associate or bachelor’s degree in Nursing with a master’s/doctoral degree in healthcare/education related field.
• Master’s or doctoral degree in Nursing education is preferred.
• Transplant experience strongly preferred.
• Willing to commit to degree completion within six months from application date.

Responsibilities

The Nursing Education Specialist (NES) works collaboratively to assess, plan, implement and evaluate educational activities through a systems model for Department of Nursing staff including orientation, continuing education, and competency programs. Roles of the NES include learning facilitator, change agent, mentor, leader, champion for scientific inquiry, advocate for Nursing Professional Development specialty and partner for practice transitions.

This role is eligible for TN sponsorship. Successful sponsorship will require state licensure and completion of the VisaScreen or equivalent certification.

Qualifications

• Master’s or doctoral degree in nursing or an associate or bachelor's degree in Nursing with a master's/doctoral degree in healthcare/education related field.
• Master’s or doctoral degree in Nursing education is preferred.
• Transplant experience strongly preferred.
• Will consider applicants meeting all other qualifications who commit to degree completion within six months from application date.
• Experience in educational programming.
• Demonstrated teaching skills.
• Certification in nursing professional development is preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) competency is highly recommended.
• Current RN license by applicable state requirements.
• Additional state licensure(s) and/or specialty training as required by the work area and recognized on the DON approved credentials list.
