Job summary

The Biobehavioral Nursing and Health Informatics Department at the University of Washington School of Nursing invites applications for a non-tenure eligible teaching faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, with an anticipated start date of September 16, 2027.

The appointment is 50%-100% FTE for a nine-month academic year, a 3-year term beginning September 16, 2027, with eligibility to be reappointed.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in nursing or a relevant field (or foreign equivalent) by the date of appointment
• RN licensure (Washington State or Multistate Compact) by the date of appointment
• One or more years of experience teaching in undergraduate nursing courses (didactic, clinical, and/or simulation)
• One or more years of clinical nursing experience in the last 5 years

Responsibilities

• Teach and mentor a diverse community of students in undergraduate nursing programs and work collaboratively across disciplines, cultures, and academic backgrounds
• Teach didactic and clinical courses in an Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) and/or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) pre-licensure program
• Mentor students, clinical faculty, and preceptors
• Engage in scholarly activities
