Qualifications

• Terminal degree in Nursing (DNP or PhD) or health-related field.
• At least 3 years of clinical expertise in medical-surgical nursing, pediatrics, and/or maternal/child health.
• Virginia RN and Nurse Practitioner license or eligibility to obtain upon employment.
• Knowledge of advanced nursing practice, curriculum development, and teaching strategies for higher education.
• Ability to teach didactic and/or clinical courses in med/surg, critical care, or maternal/child health.
• Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and collaboration skills.
• Proficiencies in teaching across traditional, hybrid, and online formats.
• Adaptability, critical thinking, problem solving, mentoring, and collegial collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Teaches clinical and non-clinical courses across School of Nursing curriculum, consistent with nursing background/expertise.
• Engages in professional and academic service that advances program, School of Nursing, and College of Public Health goals; participates in faculty governance.
