Job summary
Mayo Clinic in Phoenix is seeking a Nursing Education Specialist to collaborate on designing, delivering, and evaluating nursing education programs including orientation, continuing education, and competency initiatives.
The role requires RN licensure, Bachelor's and Master’s in Nursing (ADN with Master’s considered) and at least three years of nursing experience. Cardiology/procedural experience and teaching skills are valued; TN sponsorship is available.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and a Master's Degree in Nursing or nursing/healthcare education-related degree required.
- ADN is accepted when accompanied with a Master's Degree in Nursing.
- Minimum of three years of nursing practice experience.
- Willing to commit to degree completion within six months from application date.
- Cardiology and/or procedural experience required.
- Position also covers Cath and EP lab; related experience considered.
- Demonstrated teaching skills.
Responsibilities
- The Nursing Education Specialist (NES) works collaboratively to assess, plan, implement and evaluate educational activities through a systems model for Department of Nursing staff including orientation, continuing education, and competency programs.
- Roles of the NES include learning facilitator, change agent, mentor, leader, champion for scientific inquiry, advocate for Nursing Professional Development specialty and partner for practice transitions.
