Job summary

ChristianaCare in the United States seeks a Nursing Professional Development Specialist (NPDS) to lead education, onboarding, and competency management for nursing staff and interprofessional teams within Heart & Vascular Interventional Services, Cardiac Prep & Hold, and Cardiac Short Stay Unit.

The role partners with leaders to advance evidence-based practice, support role transition, and promote workforce readiness and patient outcomes across diverse clinical settings.

Qualifications

• BSN required to practice in the role.
• Master's degree or current enrollment with completion within three years of hire.
• Minimum of three years of recent acute care nursing experience.
• Board Specialty Certification required or desirable (CCRN or CV).
• Delaware RN licensure or eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates onboarding and role transition for team members.
• Develops orientation plans to support competency attainment and growth.
• Creates and delivers educational programs using adult learning principles.
• Assesses learning needs through quality metrics and regulatory requirements.
• Develops competency validation programs across units.
• Mentors staff in quality improvement projects.
• Collaborates with nursing leaders and stakeholders to meet goals.
