Job summary

DCH Health System is seeking an Nursing Education Coordinator to oversee staff orientation, competency validation, and ongoing education across units. You will design, implement, and evaluate education programs, ensuring adherence to professional standards.

The role requires a BSN with Alabama RN licensure and 3 years of hospital RN experience, plus BLS/ACLS/PALS or pending certification. Strong teaching and IT skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing required and active Alabama RN license.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to teach and assess competency.
• Three years of hospital RN experience with proven teaching aptitude.
• Current BLS, ACLS and PALS certification or obtain within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing orientation, program planning, design, implementation and evaluation.
• Maintains competency standards for staff before assignments begin.
• Develops and delivers unit-based continuing education programs.
• Coordinates BLS/ACLS/PALS classes within AHA guidelines.
• Serves as clinical site liaison for nursing schools and preceptorships.
