Veracity Ventures Inc. in Brownsville, Texas, seeks a Nursing Director – Obstetrics to provide leadership and operational oversight for nursing and patient care across Women's Services.

You will partner with the CNO, oversee Labor & Delivery, Mother/Baby, and NICU, and ensure 24/7 accountability and high-quality, safe care. Qualifications

• RN license in the state of practice.
• Minimum 2 years of progressive hospital management experience.
• Experience leading Women's Services (L&D, Mother/Baby, NICU).

Responsibilities

Position Overview

The Nursing Director – Obstetrics provides leadership and operational support to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and is responsible for nursing and designated patient care services across assigned areas. This position supports the assessment, planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of nursing practice across multiple units.

The Director assumes 24/7 accountability for assigned departments and ensures the delivery of high-quality, safe, and appropriate patient care. The role is also responsible for supporting clinical staff competency, effective resource utilization, regulatory compliance, and overall nursing operations.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Operations:

• Provide leadership and operational support to the CNO across assigned nursing and patient care services.
• Direct and coordinate nursing operations across multiple units.
• Maintain 24/7 accountability for assigned departments.
• Support the planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing practice.
• Ensure high-quality, safe, and appropriate patient care.
• Promote effective utilization of staffing and other patient care resources.
• Support hospital operational goals and nursing strategic initiatives.

Clinical & Quality Management:

• Ensure clinical staff maintain appropriate competency and professional standards.
• Monitor nursing practice and patient care outcomes.
• Support quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
• Promote compliance with applicable nursing standards, regulations, and hospital policies.
• Serve as a role model and advocate for the nursing profession.

Staff Leadership & Development:

• Provide leadership and direction to nursing managers and clinical staff.
• Support employee development, engagement, and performance.
• Promote a positive and collaborative work environment.
• Encourage professional growth and accountability throughout assigned departments.

Women's Services:

• Provide operational leadership for women's services, including Labor & Delivery, Mother/Baby, and/or NICU.
• Support the management of high-acuity and complex maternal/child cases.
• Ensure appropriate staffing, clinical competency, and resources for women's services.

Required Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required.
• Master's Degree in Nursing, Business, or a related field preferred.

Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of progressive management experience in a hospital environment as a Nurse Manager or Nursing Director.
• Previous experience working in Women's Services required, including one or more of the following:
  • Labor & Delivery (L&D)
  • Mother/Baby
  • NICU
• Experience with high-acuity and/or complex cases preferred.

Licensure & Certifications:

• Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license required in the state of practice/residence, as applicable.
• AHA BLS certification required.
