Job summary

Birch Healthcare Center seeks an experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our clinical team and provide strategic leadership for nursing services, ensuring regulatory compliance and resident-centered care.

The DON will mentor nursing managers, drive QAPI initiatives, oversee staffing and budgets, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to improve resident outcomes. Background in long-term care and CMS regulations is essential.

Qualifications

• Current NH RN license is required.
• Experience as DON or ADON in skilled nursing is preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of CMS regulations and survey processes.
• Strong leadership and communication skills are essential.
• Proven track record in staff development and quality compliance.
• Ability to lead a multidisciplinary team effectively.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee all nursing operations within the facility.
• Lead, mentor, and develop nursing managers and clinical staff.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
• Promote quality resident care through evidence-based clinical practices.
• Oversee staffing, scheduling, recruitment, retention, and workforce development.
• Drive QAPI initiatives and continuous improvement.
• Maintain survey readiness and lead surveys at state and federal levels.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to optimize resident outcomes.
• Manage departmental budgets and resource utilization.
• Build a positive culture focused on teamwork and excellence.
