The Director of ICU is a Registered Nurse responsible for 24-hour administrative management of all critical care nursing services. This includes supervising, assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care delivery. The director develops departmental plans, oversees performance improvement activities, ensures regulatory compliance, and maintains accountability for the department. They supervise and evaluate all personnel, effectively utilize nursing staff, and communicate with staff, physicians, and administration to meet patient needs. The director also handles house supervisory duties, responds to codes, and ensures proper documentation. The ICU serves adolescent, adult, and older adult patients.
