Position Overview

The Nursing Director 1 will plan and supervise nurses in an assigned geographical area, focusing on infection prevention and control assessments in healthcare facilities, as well as patient linkage to care services for HIV patients. Responsibilities include outbreak detection, response, and mitigation, and providing oversight to linkage to care services, enhancing collaboration and ensuring timely care. The role involves working directly with local health staff, DIS, regional epidemiologists, state epidemiology staff, and health facility staff to conduct assessments and linkage services for the RWPB Program.

Location

Kanawha County - covering northern counties of the state.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Training: Successful completion of an associate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university or a diploma nursing program, with seven years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience as a registered professional nurse, including three years in an administrative or supervisory capacity.
2. OR Baccalaureate degree in nursing: from an accredited four-year college or university with four years of experience as a registered professional nurse, including two in an administrative or supervisory role.
3. OR Master's degree in nursing, nursing administration, public health, or public health administration: from an accredited college or university with three years of experience as a registered professional nurse, including one in an administrative or supervisory role.
4. OR Baccalaureate degree in health sciences or behavioral sciences: from an accredited college or university with five years of experience as a registered professional nurse, including one in an administrative or supervisory role.

Special Requirements

Current West Virginia license or temporary permit to practice as a registered professional nurse.
