Job summary

LearningMate is seeking a Content Specialist, Nursing to lead nursing and health professions content development, maintain accuracy, and support client relationships. The role involves working with SMEs, freelancers, and internal teams to produce high‑quality nursing curricula and assessments.

The specialist will author questions (NCLEX/NGN/adaptive formats), ensure standards, and manage content reviews and QA across projects, while training and coordinating with clients and teams.

Qualifications

  • MSN/MEd/MSN Nursing Education or master’s in a related field required.
  • Current nursing experience and active certifications preferred.
  • 5 years of teaching, instructional design, curriculum development, assessment writing, or other educational content development experience.
  • Experience using AI-based content development tools to assist in creating educational materials.

Job description

The Content Specialist, Nursing is responsible for:

  • Ensuring that the nursing and health professions' content is current, accurate, and meets student needs.
  • Developing client relationships, anticipating resource and training needs, assessing market trends, and staying current on discipline and industry standards.
  • Acting as Subject Matter Expert (SME) on nursing and health professions projects.

Essential Functions

  • Author and review Nursing questions including NCLEX, NGN and adaptive question types.
  • Directs and ensures subject matter accuracy to standards on assigned projects
  • Reviews materials from freelancers and provides feedback to manage the quality of work when needed.
  • Works with Sourcing to identify and recruit SMEs across nursing and health professions disciplines.
  • Qualifies and selects freelance SMEs, IDs, and relevant vendors for projects based on content expertise, skill, credentials, and availability.
  • Develops, administers, and evaluates assessments and training materials, and conducts live and recorded training as necessary.
  • Establishes and maintains direct communication with the client for problem-solving and collaboration.
  • Participates in status and development meetings with clients.
  • Maintains direct communication with VP, Content services, HE, Director of Learning Design, HE, and Content Development Managers, to provide consistent direction, leadership and support.

Qualifications

  • MSN, MEd, MSN Nursing Education, or a master’s in a related field. (Required)
  • Current nursing experience and active certifications preferred.
  • 5 years teaching, instructional design, curriculum development, assessment writing, or other educational content development experience.
  • Experience using Artificial Intelligence based content development tools, such as generative text, image, and voice models, to assist in creating, organizing, scaling, and refining educational materials.
  • Exceptional ability to interact and partner with clients, internal teams, and SMEs.
  • Demonstrated experience in high-volume content production, collaborating with subject matter experts to develop nursing curriculum, assessments, and related educational materials.
  • Highly motivated with excellent verbal and written communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-starter with strong organizational and time management skills, self-directed and able to handle multiple priorities with demanding timeframes.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a high-quality results-driven, team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to use discretion, make sound decisions, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficient in MS Office, Google Applications, modern business, communication, mobile, and presentation tools.
  • Programs for virtual teams i.e., JoinMe, Google Hangout, Zoom, and/or Skype.
  • Educational technology experience is a plus.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • LearningMate has global customers and offices. Coordination with the teams demands regular early morning and occasionally late evening calls/meetings.
  • Occasional travel (~5%) to client sites or relevant conferences may be required; typically planned in advance.
