Job summary

Ability KC is a respected outpatient rehabilitation facility in Kansas City seeking a Nursing Assistant (CNA) for PRN shifts. You will work under the supervision of a registered nurse or LPN to assist with data collection, documentation and patient comfort, delivering compassionate care across diverse cases.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, CNA certification, and BLS certification. A minimum of three months of nursing assistant experience or clinical nursing coursework

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CNA certification required.
• Three months experience as a nursing assistant or as a nursing student who has completed a fundamentals of nursing course at an accredited school of nursing; prior hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administers patient care and related activities under supervision to promote comfort and health.
• Performs data collection, documentation, communication and implementation of patient care interventions in accordance with state Nursing Practice Acts and department standards.
• Coordinate with supervisors to discuss PRN scheduling and flexible coverage as needed.

Job description

Under general direction of the Supervisor and the direct supervision of a registered nurse or LPN, administers patient care and related activities, services and/or procedures to promote the physical and emotional health and person comfort needs for patients. Delivery of patient care includes data collection, documentation, communication and implementation of patient care interventions in accordance with state Nursing Practice Acts and department standards.

PRN positions offer flexibility in scheduling and can be discussed with the supervisor to best meet the needs of the employee and organization.

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CNA certification required.

Experience:

• Three months experience as a nursing assistant or as a nursing student who has completed a fundamentals of nursing course at an accredited school of nursing Prior hospital experience preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Licensure/Certification:

• Excellent interpersonal skills required.
• Ability to achieve and maintain BLS certification required.
