Job summary

Texas Woman’s University seeks a Clinical Teaching Assistant (CTA) to support lead clinical faculty in nursing labs and clinical rotations, helping to maintain a safe, high‑quality learning environment and enhance the student-to-instructor ratio.

The CTA assists with instruction, supervises student performance, provides real-time feedback, and ensures accurate documentation of progress through simulation and clinical activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
• Current, unencumbered Texas RN license.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Preference for Master's degree in Nursing or related field.
• Simulation-based instruction or preceptor experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist lead faculty in clinical instruction of nursing students in hospitals, healthcare, or labs.
• Supervise and evaluate students’ clinical performance, including med administration and patient care.
• Facilitate pre-brief and debrief to encourage critical thinking.
• Monitor safety protocols and professional standards of practice.
• Provide real-time, constructive feedback to support skill acquisition.
• Maintain documentation of student progress and clinical evaluations.
• Support students during simulation activities and remediation as needed.
• Coordinate with faculty and clinical site personnel for alignment and safety.
