Qualifications

  • 3 years’ experience as a registered nurse minimum.
  • Current unencumbered RN License in Illinois required.
  • Direct patient care experience in the last year or as a nursing instructor.

ATS Institute of Technology is seeking a dedicated Clinical Nursing Instructor to support students as they transition from classroom learning to hands-on patient care. As a Clinical Instructor, you will play a vital role in developing students' professional skills, critical thinking, and patient care expertise, ensuring they are well-prepared for the nursing field.

Your Role

As a Clinical Nursing Instructor, you will work hand-in-hand with students to prepare them for direct patient care in clinical settings. You will supervise students as they apply nursing theory in real-world environments, ensuring they develop the skills, confidence, and professionalism required to deliver safe and effective patient care. Through one-on-one coaching and hands-on experience, you will help students transition from learners to competent, compassionate nursing professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach & Supervise Students – Instruct students on proper nursing techniques and procedures while overseeing their patient care.
  • Mentor & Evaluate Students – Provide guidance, feedback, and performance assessments to help students improve their clinical skills and professional behaviors.
  • Lead Post-Conference Discussions – Engage students in reflective learning to reinforce clinical experiences and encourage critical thinking.
  • Coordinate with Clinical Site Staff – Work closely with healthcare facility staff to assign student-patient cases that align with curriculum goals.
  • Participate in Faculty Development – Engage in faculty meetings, instructional seminars, and professional development to stay at the forefront of nursing education.

  • A minimum of a baccalaureate degree in nursing from an academic institution accredited by a regional or nationally accredited agency that is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Education or administration training preferred, Master’s degree preferred.
  • Current unencumbered Registered Nurse License in Illinois required.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a registered nurse.
  • Direct patient care experience within the previous year in a clinical setting or as a nursing instructor.
