Job summary

University of Utah Health in South Jordan, UT is seeking a Nurse Lead to oversee care delivery and staff performance within a 24/7 health system. The role includes coordinating department work, staffing schedules, and training to meet safety and quality standards.

The ideal candidate has at least two years of nursing experience, an active Utah RN license (or eligibility via the Interstate Compact), and preferably a BSN.

Qualifications

• Two years of nursing experience.
• Current RN license in Utah or obtain one within 90 days under the Interstate Compact.
• Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential via University of Utah Health RQI system (must be obtained within 30 days of hire).
• Bachelor's of Science in Nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates the work of an area in the department in line with mission, vision, and values.
• Drives operations in alignment with department goals and strategy.
• Schedules labor and equipment.
• May manage hiring, orientation and staff development.
• Conducts employee evaluations, coaching, and disciplinary processes to align performance and behaviors.
• Ensures training and education of staff, including annual compliance and licensing or certification.
• Accurate reporting of time and attendance for direct reports.
• May require rotating schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays for staffing a 24/7 health system.
