Occ Summary

Perform a variety of nonprofessio nalnuNote and report any changes in patient's condition.Turn and positio npatitalWorking knowledge of infection control procedures and safety pre cautriatetraining.Assist with admission, discharge, and transportation o fpatinking water.Perform fingersticks for blood glucose testing, with ap proprsingduties in the direct careof patients under the direct supervisi on of anRN/LPN.

Work Performed

Prepare patients, equi pment and supplies for specific procedures andprovide manual assistance as required.Obtain and record patient data for medical records noting an dinformingRN/LPN of information collected.Administer treatment and perso nalcare procedures to patients including,but not limited to, feeding, ba thing,shaving, changing clothing,cleaning and trimming fingernails, bed- making,assisting withambulation, enemas, skin care, and bowel and bladde relimination;provide such additional care as required to meet the person al needs andcomfort of assigned patients.Participate in teaching activit iesbyreinforcing teaching instructed byRN and/or physician as needed.Ass istphysician and nurses with physical examinations by helpingposition pa tients, changing non-sterile dressing and weighing patients.Take and rec ordvital signs, record I&O, apply ice bags, administerdouches and enemas .ients, set up and feed patients as necessary,providepatientswith freshd rients.Follow standard precautions and use personal protective equipment asrequired.Collect, deliver and conduct routine tests on patient specime ns.Clean assigned area; stock and replenish supplies and equipment asreq uired.Participate in own professional development by maintaining require dskills validation and attendingeducational offerings. Support thedevel opment of other staff and formal learners.May also perform sterile dress ingchange for wounds over 48 hours old,IV fluid assistance activities,or al/nasogastric feeding and urinarycatherizations/irrigation.Perform othe rrelated duties incidental to work described herein.
