Job summary

Paradise Creek of Cascadia in Moscow, Idaho is seeking a Nursing Assistant in Training to start a secure career in long-term care. Full-time or part-time shifts, days or evenings, on-site roles supporting CNAs in daily resident care.

The role offers CNA education support and a bonus once you become a certified Nursing Assistant; ideal candidates have a compassionate, patient attitude and strong teamwork.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Within 120 days of employment, completes a state-approved nursing assistant training program and becomes certified.
  • Six months experience in a long-term care environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist CNAs in day-to-day functions.
  • Answer nurse call system to determine resident needs.
  • Assist residents with grooming, oral hygiene, bathing, hair, and incontinence care.
  • Obtain food trays and assist residents with feeding.
  • Assist residents with range of motion exercises and movement to wheelchair or activity areas.
  • Assist residents with turning and positioning in bed.
  • Document services provided.
  • Assist residents with ambulation for short distances.
  • Maintain punctuality and regular attendance for assigned shifts.

He/she has either successfully completed a CNA program or is currently enrolled in a program with the intention of progressing through nursing school. A Nursing Assistant assists CNAs in their daily duties with residents/patients.

Note: All employees of Cascadia Healthcare are required to submit and be cleared to work in the facility per each

state’s specific background check requirements prior to contact with patients/residents.

Essential Functions

  • Assists CNAs in their day-to-day functions.

  • Conducts job responsibilities in accordance with the standards set out in the Company’s Code of Conduct, its policies and procedures, applicable federal and state laws, and applicable professional standards.

  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to react decisively and quickly in emergency situations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents and their family members, and facility staff.
  • Ability to demonstrate compassion and patience.
Requirements

Education

  • High school diploma or GED required.

Licenses/Certification

  • Within 120 days of employment, completes a state-approved nursing assistant training program & becomes certified.
  • NOTE: A Nursing Assistant enrolled in a nursing program may be compensated differently based upon the clinical education received.

Experience

  • Six months experience in a long-term care environment preferred.
  • Complete 16 hours of classroom education then complete skills checks for clinical areas for which job expectations include.
