Baptist Health in Elizabethtown, KY is seeking a Nursing Assistant II for our Float Pool, part-time night shift (7p–7a).

Under direction of a Registered Nurse, provides age-appropriate care, documents vital signs, assists with personal hygiene, mobility, and daily activities. This role supports patient safety and comfort in a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) certification required upon hire.
• One year of relevant job-related experience.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Obtains and documents reported height and weight on admission.
• Turns and positions patients every 2 hours.
• Assists and promotes activity, ambulation, and other activities as ordered.
• Assists patients with personal hygiene, including showering, bathing, shaving, shampooing, perianal-care, catheter care and oral care.
• Takes and records vital signs accurately within established time frame.
• Hourly rounds to ensure patient safety and satisfaction.

The Nursing Assistant performs designated tasks in the provision of age-appropriate care for patients under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.

• Obtains and documents reported height and weighs patient on admission and documents.
• Turns and positions patients every 2 hours as indicated, using proper body mechanics.
• Assists and promotes activity, ambulation, up in chair and other activities as ordered.
• Assists patients with personal hygiene, including as showering, bathing, shaving, shampooing, perianal-care, catheter care and oral care.
• Takes and records vital signs accurately within established time frame.
• Consistently performs hourly rounds to ensure patient safety and promote customer satisfaction.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Certified Nurse Aid certification required upon hire.
• One year of relevant job-related experience required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire.
