Job summary

Homewood Living Williamsport offers a paid nursing assistant training program designed to prepare nurses for the Nursing Assistant exam. The class runs about 4-6 weeks, followed by exam requirements within 120 days to continue employment.

Participants gain hands-on care for residents, learn lift and transfer safety, and work under licensed supervision to develop daily living activities support for seniors.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift and transfer 30 pounds frequently.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, and turn for an 8 hour shift.
• Must be listed on the state GNA registry within 120 days of employment.
• Motivation to work with geriatric population.
• English reading/writing essential for care plans.

Responsibilities

• Treat resident information as confidential.
• Assist with personal hygiene and daily care per care plan.
• Provide bed making and linen care.
• Assist with feeding and nutrition.
• Perform resident treatments as assigned within nursing scope.
