Job summary

SEARHC is seeking a Nursing Assistant Trainee to provide bedside care in Acute Care/Long Term Care settings in Southeast Alaska. Under supervision of the Registered Nurse, you will assist with daily living activities and basic nursing tasks.

Required is a high school diploma or equivalent with no prior experience; you will operate under infection control practices, work as part of a team, and assist with patient transport and documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• No experience required.
• Must follow instructions and demonstrate infection control practices.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others and maintain confidentiality.
• Demonstrates knowledge of proper equipment use.

Responsibilities

• Provide general nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment and proper infection control practices.
• Assist with bed baths, hygiene, feeding, and mobility.
• Record vital signs and measurements in the electronic health record (EHR) and report abnormalities.
• Assist with ad hoc tasks and transport to other departments as required.
• Assist with preparing patients for medivac transport when needed.
