Job Summary:

Location: Methodist Hospital, 8303 Dodge St, Omaha, NE

Work Schedule: 24 or 36 hours/week, 6:45pm to 7:15am

Responsibilities include supporting patients with hygiene and daily needs, providing comfort, transportation, monitoring vital signs, and ensuring patient safety and cleanliness of treatment areas.

Responsibilities:

Essential Functions

1. Provide patient care tailored to age, ensuring comfort and understanding, and complete age-specific competency assessments.
2. Maintain excellent interpersonal relations, respond promptly to patient needs, communicate effectively with team members, and participate in reporting processes.
3. Assist with clinical activities per patient care plans, including hygiene, repositioning, ambulation, vital signs, and patient education.
4. Accurately document all patient data in Cerner or worksheets in a timely manner.
5. Perform housekeeping duties to maintain a safe, sanitary environment.
6. Ensure safety measures are in place, respond to call lights, and assist team members as needed.
7. Support delegated activities following the 4 Rights of Delegation.
8. Prepare exam rooms and equipment for treatments.
9. Maintain organized work areas and supplies.
10. Cover front reception and assist with administrative duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Education:

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Completion of first clinical rotation or 75-hour state-approved Nurse Assistant course required; 6 months Nurse Assistant experience preferred.
• High school students 16+ who meet requirements may be considered.

Experience:

• Previous customer service or patient-related experience preferred.
• Experience in hospital, clinic, or nursing home settings preferred.

Certifications:

• Current BLS certification preferred; required within 3 months of hire.

Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to follow instructions, communicate effectively, and demonstrate critical thinking.
• Participate in ongoing education and training.

Physical Requirements:

• Medium work, exerting up to 50 pounds of force.
• Physical activities include occasional climbing, crawling, kneeling, sitting; frequent balancing, carrying, crouching, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, and repetitive motions; constant grasping, hearing, seeing, standing, and walking.
