Job Summary: Geisinger is proud to offer a Nursing Assistant position with a $1500 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates, a minimum hiring rate of $15.75, with increased rates for experienced individuals, and up to $3 shift differentials for evening, night, and weekend shifts. We also offer up to $40,000 in financial support to become a nurse.

Job Duties:

  • Provide patient care within the nursing assistant scope of practice, supporting the multidisciplinary care plan.
  • Identify, observe, and document patient needs, reporting changes to licensed personnel promptly.
  • Obtain and maintain specimen integrity according to policies and physician orders.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene and linen changes.
  • Provide one-to-one patient safety watches as assigned.
  • Process and transport specimens to the laboratory.
  • Perform point-of-care testing and maintain related equipment.
  • Assist in troubleshooting equipment and supply issues.
  • Serve as a preceptor and mentor for new staff and students.
  • Handle clerical duties related to admissions, transfers, discharges, and orders.
  • Coordinate patient transportation for tests and procedures.
  • Order supplies and communicate with food services regarding diets.
  • Operate and troubleshoot clerical equipment.
  • Transport non-controlled medications and blood products as needed.

Work is performed in a clinical environment, adhering to organizational policies and procedures. The responsibilities listed are typical but not exhaustive.
