Position: Nursing Assistant; Registered (NAR)

Department: Med/Surg & Transitional Care Unit

Location: Glencoe, MN

Remote Work: No

Position Type: Part Time, year-round employment

Hours per 2-week Pay Period: 48

Shift: Days

Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 7am-7:30pm, 6-week block schedule

Weekend Rotation: Every Third

Holiday Rotation: Yes

Position Summary

The NAR provides essential support to the Medical Surgical unit by assisting with patient care under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). This role ensures the department operates efficiently by maintaining a clean, organized, and well-stocked environment while fostering effective communication with the care team.

Assists patients with activities of daily living, providing basic nursing care. Responsibilities include assisting with toileting, brushing teeth, positioning, bathing, rehab care and dressing. This position organizes and maintains unit supplies necessary for daily activities, prepares and maintains patient records through data entry into the electronic medical record (EMR). The NAR simultaneously manages many activities impacting patient care while providing exceptional customer service through welcoming behavior, effective communication and information sharing.

Education and Experience

• Must possess current certification as a Nursing Assistant, Registered and be listed on the Minnesota Board of Nursing Assistant Registry
• Must be at least 18 years of age and be able to meet facility required physical job requirements
• Candidate is required to have current BLS/CPR certification.
  
  

Required Skills And Abilities

• Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills. Must be able to communicate with tact and professionalism as well as adhere to HIPAA and patient privacy regulations.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize and organize workload according to department need.
• Strong customer service focus required. Candidate must be self-motivated, have ability to work independently as well as a member of the team.
• Proficient in Windows-based computer systems required.
• Previous EMR experience preferred. Excellian/Epic knowledge a plus!
  
  

Compensation And Benefits

Compensation decisions are made based off of several factors including relevant work experience, education, certification and licensure as well as internal equity. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of their hourly range.

Hourly Range: $19.50 to $25.43
