Job summary

Prisma Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant (non-certified) to provide quality patient care under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse. You will assist adult, geriatric, infant and adolescent patients in their personal care and comfort at Oconee Medical Campus.

Responsibilities include taking vital signs, assisting with admissions, collecting specimens, meals, toileting, and ensuring room and equipment cleanliness. EMR documentation must be accurate and timely.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Nursing Assistant Training Program preferred.
• Basic computer skills.
• Knowledge of office equipment.
• Data entry.

Responsibilities

• Take and record vital signs accurately.
• Prepare rooms and greet/orient patients and families.
• Collect urine, stool, and sputum specimens.
• Assist with meals and provide snacks.
• Assist with toileting and manage colostomy bags as needed.
• Apply/remove antiemboli hose or compression devices.
• Maintain cleanliness of treatment and common areas.
• Document in EMR accurately and timely.
• Deliver specimens to the appropriate department.
• Dispose of excess linen and maintain supply areas.

Job Summary

To provide quality patient care, the successful Nursing Assistant (non-certified) performs certain nursing activities in caring for the personal needs and comfort of the adult, geriatric, infant and adolescent patients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse.

Accountabilities

• Taking and recording vital signs accurately and with repeating questionable values.
• Assists with admission of patients to the unit by preparing room, and greeting and orienting patient and/or family to unit (bed, call light, phone, TV).
• Collecting urine, stool, and sputum specimens.
• Preparing patients for meals and assisting in feeding and providing snacks and supplements.
• Assisting adult/pediatric patients with toileting needs in relation to their age including emptying established colostomy bags.
• Removing and reapplying antiemboli hose or compression devices.
• Maintaining cleanliness and order of treatment room, utility room, diet kitchen, hallways, and alcoves.
• Completing documentation in EMR in an accurate and timely manner.
• Delivering specimens to appropriate department as requested.
• Disposes of excess linen and keeps linen emptied.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

This is a non-management job that report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.
