Responsibilities

• Assist with the implementation and operation of programs within an adult psychiatric facility.
• Provide direct patient care by planning, organizing and implementing psychiatric rehabilitation activities.
• Escort patients to and from activities.

• Maintain documentation and records of patient behavior.
• Assist in supervision of patients during treatment/support activities.
• May lead activity groups and drive hospital vehicles for outings.

Job Summary

Provides direct patient care by planning, organizing and implementing psychiatric rehabilitation activities. Assists in escort of patients to and from activities. Assists in screening and basic assessment of patients. Provides documentation and keeps records of patient behavior. Assists in supervision of patients during treatment/support activities. May lead/co-lead activities groups in Recovery Mall. May drive hospital vehicles and supervise patients during outings. Implements hospital and departmental policies, procedures, rules and regulations in assuring a safe, therapeutic environment.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail; basic computer usage skills, organizational skills; the ability to follow instructions, work independently, strong safety and cleanliness awareness skills; and the ability to lift, push, and/or pull 50lbs and over.
