Job summary

Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center seeks a Nursing Assistant for per diem shifts in the Pulmonary unit. You will assist with ADLs, hygiene, mobility, monitoring vital signs, and support nursing staff in delivering direct patient care.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; certifications such as BLS or CNA are preferred. Nursing students encouraged; 1–2 years patient care experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• BLS Certification preferred.
• CNA Certified preferred.
• Nursing Students preferred.
• 1-2 years previous patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct Patient Care: assists with ADLs, hygiene, mobility, toileting, and emotional support; monitors vital signs and basic treatments.
• Reports changes in patient condition to RN and documents in medical record.
• Determines priorities of care and works as part of the unit team.
• Maintains safety and comfort: respond to call lights, ensure patient ID checks, and keep rooms clean and stocked.
• Adheres to safety protocols and isolation precautions; maintains a clean, organized environment.
• Manages equipment: logs equipment, reports issues, and orients new staff.
• Provides emotional support to patients and families and follows RN guidance.
