Job summary

Qualifications
- Six months of general experience.
- One year of education above high school with NA-related courses.
- Completion of an intensive, short NA training program may meet requirements.
- English language proficiency as required by VA standards.
- Demonstrated KSAs for patient care, observation, and communication.
Responsibilities
- Learn and perform basic nursing duties under close supervision.
- Provide activities of daily living and contribute to the patient care plan.
- Observe patient status and refer deviations to supervisor promptly.
- Properly use equipment and supplies for basic procedures.
- Serve as a preceptor to new Nursing Assistants and support orientation.
- Recognize emergent care needs and assist while awaiting help.
