Job summary

Baptist Health Floyd is seeking a Nursing Assistant for the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in New Albany, Indiana. The position is part-time (24 hours weekly) on the day shift from 7am to 7pm, with eligibility for benefits.

The Nursing Assistant will work under nurse supervision, performing delegated patient care tasks and routine unit maintenance to support high-quality cardiovascular care in a 32-bed PCU. BLS is required; CNA is preferred, with prior NA experience welcomed.

Qualifications

• BLS for Healthcare Provider certification is required.
• Experience as Nursing Assistant preferred.
• High school diploma/equivalent or CNA preferred, not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide delegated patient care tasks under the supervision of a nurse.
• Assist with routine non-patient care unit tasks to support the PCU team.

Job Duties:

We are seeking a Nursing Assistant who under general supervision and according to established procedures functions as an on-shift team member under the direction of the nurse by providing delegated aspects of patient care and routine non-patient care unit maintenance tasks.

About the Unit:

The Progressive Care Unit, also known as PCU, is a 32-bed intermediate level of care unit between the Inpatient Units and the Critical Care units. While the unit specializes in cardiovascular care nurses will encounter a variety of diagnoses, such as CHF, dysrhythmias, DKA, respiratory issues, sepsis, etc. While working closely with an interdisciplinary team, nurses provide excellent care for a high acuity-based population. PCU is a great place for nurses to cultivate and expand their assessment skills while managing several drips and other specialized procedures.

Qualifications:

• BLS for Healthcare Provider required.
• Previous Nursing Assistant experience preferred.
• High school diploma/equivalent or CNA preferred, not required.
