Job Summary

The Nursing Assistant (NA) serves as a caregiver to patients during scheduled shifts. The NA provides patient-centered nursing care and assistance with daily living activities under supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Responsibilities include bathing, grooming, toileting, eating, meal prep, emotional and spiritual support, administering delegated tasks, recording vital signs, and collecting non-invasive biological specimens. The NA also performs clerical duties related to scheduling and documentation, prepares treatment areas, cleans equipment, and maintains a sanitary environment.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of patient care principles, medical terminology, and equipment.
• Certification and registration with the Minnesota Board of Nursing Assistant Registry preferred; required if mandated by law (e.g., Home Care).
