Job summary

Beth Israel Deaconess Milton is seeking a Nursing Assistant for the Nursing Support department on a per diem basis, with various shifts and hours available.

Minimum of 16 hours per month required, plus one winter and one summer holiday, and one weekend shift per month. Responsibilities include vital signs, specimen collection, and personal care under RN supervision, with emphasis on safety and quality patient care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CNA Training Program completed or nursing student with at least one clinical semester.
• Previous nursing assistant experience preferred.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) required.

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs and collect specimens.
• Document patient records and assist with activities of daily living.
• Assist with patient transport and mobility.
• Communicate with staff, patients, and families.
• Follow safety rules and hospital policies.

Under the general management and supervision of the Nurse Manager, and/or direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, The Nursing Assistants performs a variety of selected nursing activities, to include but not limited to,taking of vital signs,collection of specimens,documentation of specific portions of patient's medical recordassisting patient with personal hygiene and body mechanics of standing, sitting and ambulation as necessaryprovides quality patient care, assisting with activities of daily livingcommunicates effectively with staff, patients and their families where appropriateassist with transport of patients leaving the area when necessaryweigh patients and records on patient record if necessaryPerforms all duties in accordance with safety and other laws, rules and regulations as set forth by appropriate regulatory and governmental agencies and in accordance with established departmental and hospital policy and procedure.

Qualifications:

• Min Education: Equivalent or the completion of high school
• Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant Training Program or if a nursing student, the completion of at least one clinical semester
• Min Experience: Previous, experience as a nursing assistant preferred
• Skills/Other: Basic Life Support certification with American Heart Association required

Pay Range:

$19.50 - $26.24

The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
