The State of South Carolina is seeking a Nursing Assistant for the Department of Mental Health in Columbia. This temporary, hourly paid position involves supporting patients with mental health issues and assisting with daily living activities. This is a temporary, hourly paid position.
As a Nursing Assistant, working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, you will perform therapeutic care and assist patients with activities of daily living (ADL). You will also help maintain a safe and therapeutic environment.
Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED. Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are advantageous.
The candidate must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand, walk, reach, pull, push, stoop, bend, and climb stairs. Ability to tolerate noise and work in patient areas for extended periods is necessary. The role may require working beyond scheduled hours to ensure safe staffing and compliance with regulatory standards.
