Job summary

Essentia Health in Duluth, MN, is seeking a Compassionate Nursing Assistant for the Level 12 Neurotrauma Unit at St Mary's Medical Center. You will provide direct patient care under RN supervision, contributing to safety and comfort while meeting regulatory standards.

Responsibilities include personal hygiene care, transfers, vital signs, and timely reporting of changes. Eligible candidates may receive a hiring incentive up to $1,500; BLS certification is required or obtainable within 1 month.

Qualifications

• Must meet one of the following requirements: 6 months nursing assistant experience, completion of one semester of clinical rotations within an accredited nursing program, enrollment into the Essentia Health Nursing Assistant Foundation Course within 30 days of hire, verifiable completion of a recognized nurse aide training program, current registration on applicable state nursing assistant registry.

Responsibilities

• Providing personal hygiene care, assisting with nutritional needs
• Providing comfort care and other assistance
• Appropriately and safely transferring patients
• Taking vital signs and completing recordkeeping
• Recognizing and promptly reporting changes in patient condition to the RN
• Maintaining a safe, clean environment for patients to promote the healing process.

Education

6 months nursing assistant experience

Completion of one semester of clinical rotations within an accredited nursing program

Enrollment into the Essentia Health Nursing Assistant Foundation Course within 30 days of hire

Verifiable completion of a recognized nurse aide training program
