Select Specialty Hospital-Corewell Grand Rapids is a critical illness recovery hospital serving chronically ill patients requiring extended healing and recovery. Nursing Assistants provide compassionate care, assist with daily activities, and support patients through their recovery process.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or 3+ years of relevant work experience.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient bathing using basin-less bath products and assist with oral hygiene.
• Assist with oral feeding and care of hair.
• Participate in hourly rounds.
• Transport patients to and from various treatment centers and assist transporters as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness of bedpans, urinals, wheelschairs and other instruments/equipment.
• Keep patients' rooms clean and orderly.
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)
• BLS is required within 90 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications

• Hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant, actively enrolled RN student)
