Job summary

Essentia Health St. Mary's- Detroit Lakes is seeking a Nurse Aide to provide direct patient care under supervision, supporting safety and comfort across hygiene, nutrition and comfort measures.

You will take vital signs, document accurately, and help maintain a clean, safe environment. The role offers a part-time schedule of 24 hours per week, day shift (6am-2:30pm), with every other weekend and holiday rotation.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 3 months of hire
• Nurse aide training program or current registration on state registry

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under supervision of RN, Nurse Manager, or department director
• Assist with personal hygiene care and nutritional needs
• Provide comfort care and safe transfers, maintain a clean, safe patient environment
• Take vital signs and perform accurate recordkeeping, report changes promptly to RN

Education

Nurse aide training or CNA certification

Job Description:

Responsible for providing direct care to patients and serving the needs of patients in a manner conducive to their safety and comfort, under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, Nurse Manager, Assistant Head Nurse, and/or Department Director (possibly with guidance from an LPN) to contribute to meeting the mission and goals of Essentia Health. Duties will vary by patient care unit/department and include but are not limited to: Providing personal hygiene care, assisting with nutritional needs, providing comfort care and other assistance, appropriately and safely transferring patients, taking vital signs and completing recordkeeping, recognizing and promptly reporting changes in patient condition to the RN, and maintaining a safe, clean environment for patients to promote the healing process. Works within job scope to meet the requirements of the Joint Commission and other applicable federal, state and local regulatory and accrediting agencies.

Education Qualifications:

This position requires the ability to work the following schedule:

• 24 hours per week
• Day Shift (6am-2:30pm)
• Every other weekend and participation in a holiday rotation

Hiring Incentive Eligible Position: Qualified candidates may be eligible for a hiring incentive of up to $1500.

Licensure/Certification Qualifications:

• BLS certification required within 3 months of hire
• Verifiable completion of a recognized nurse aide training program OR current registration on applicable state nursing assistant registry
