Essentia Health in Brainerd/Baxter, Minnesota is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide direct patient care under RN supervision. Flexible evening hours, with a rotating 8-hour shift and every-other weekend, support patient comfort and safety across units.

The role requires completion of an approved Nursing Assistant program or equivalent registration, with BLS certification or plans to obtain it within one month of hire. Union presence and strong benefits accompany this position.

Qualifications

Job Description:

Education Qualifications:

Must meet ONE of the following requirements:

• 6 months of patient care experience

• Completion of one semester of clinical rotations within an accredited nursing program

• Successful completion of an EH provided Nursing Assistant training within one month of hire

• Verifiable completion of a recognized nurse aide training program

• Current registration on applicable state nursing assistant registry

This position MUST be able to work the following:

• 56 hours per 2 weeks

• Every Other Weekend

• Rotating 8 Hour Shifts

• Evening Shift: 3:00PM - 11:30PM

As a Nursing Assistant, you are responsible for providing direct care to patients and serving the needs of patients in a manner conducive to their safety and comfort, under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, Nurse Manager, Assistant Head Nurse, and/or Department Director (possibly with guidance from an LPN) to contribute to meeting the mission and goals of Essentia Health. Works within job scope to meet the requirements of the Joint Commission and other applicable federal, state and local regulatory and accrediting agencies.

Duties will vary by patient care unit/department and include but are not limited to:

• Providing personal hygiene care, assisting with nutritional needs

• Providing comfort care and other assistance

• Appropriately and safely transferring patients

• Taking vital signs and completing recordkeeping

• Recognizing and promptly reporting changes in patient condition to the RN

• Maintaining a safe, clean environment for patients to promote the healing process.

Licensure/CertificationQualifications:

• BLS certified or ability to become certified within 1 month from hire date.
