Job summary

Aura Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant - MedSurg-CDU to support Registered Nurses in delivering compassionate, patient-centered care. You will assist with hygiene, nutrition, mobility, and vital signs while applying advanced tasks as unit needs, including phlebotomy and Foley catheter removal when applicable.

You're expected to communicate clearly with patients, families, and the healthcare team, uphold safety and confidentiality, and follow infection control protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; rising senior considered.
• Current BLS certification; CNA/Patient Care Tech preferred.

The Nursing Assistant - MedSurg- CDU provides support under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to promote a positive patient experience through compassionate, patient-centered care. The role involves assisting with daily activities such as hygiene, nutrition, mobility, vital signs, and implementing advanced skills like phlebotomy and Foley catheter removal, based on unit needs. The Care Partner communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members, ensuring safety, confidentiality, and adherence to infection control protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with the healthcare team to deliver excellent patient care and experience.
• Support safety interventions, document patient information accurately, and respond promptly to patient needs.
• Assist with care delivery, including hygiene, mobility, and advanced clinical tasks.
• Transport supplies and medications, maintain equipment, and participate in performance improvement initiatives.
• Communicate effectively using established techniques, maintain environment safety, and uphold privacy standards.

Qualifications & Skills

• High school diploma/GED or rising senior in good standing.
• Current BLS certification; CNA or Patient Care Tech certification preferred.
