About The Unit

9 North Medical is a 35-bed, Medical/Surgical unit with a diverse patient population. We focus on patient-centered care, teamwork, and creating a positive environment for staff development. Staff are encouraged to participate in our Professional Nurse council and unit decisions through a Shared Governance Model.

About Royal Oak Hospital

Recognized as the #2 hospital in Michigan by U.S. News & World Report, it is a major academic and referral center with Level I adult and Level II pediatric trauma designations, Magnet designation, and Michigan’s first Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence.

Scope of Work

• Provide patient care according to the plan of care, unit routine, and hospital policy under RN supervision.
• Transport patients safely via wheelchair or stretcher, and document services.
• Serve as an Observer for patients requiring constant observation, either in person or remotely.
• Perform clerical duties and document care in the electronic medical record.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred: hospital or nursing home experience.
• Required: American Heart Association or Red Cross Basic Life Support certification.
• Preferred: current CNA certification.

Additional Details

• Part-time, Night shift (6:30 pm - 7:00 am), 24 hours/week.
