Education options include high school diploma or equivalent and Florida CNA certification or LPN licensure. Prior experience in a healthcare setting is preferred but graduates of approved nursing programs are welcome.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Florida CNA certification or LPN license per policy.
• Graduate of approved nursing program or equivalent training acceptable.
• EMT/Paramedic or medical corpsman backgrounds considered.
• Foreign licensure/certification evaluated by policy.

Responsibilities

• Assists patients with hygiene, mobility, hydration, elimination and nutrition.
• Provides routine treatments and maintains a safe, clean, and organized patient environment.
• Maintains patient safety and confidentiality.
• Assists with admission, transfer, and discharge.
• Takes and records vital signs as directed and documents pertinent patient information.
• Communicates patient condition to RN or healthcare team.
• Participates in handoff report and hourly rounding.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

State of Florida Certified Nursing Assistant certification

State of Florida Licensed Practical Nurse

Graduate of an approved school of nursing

Medical Corpsman/EMT/Paramedic

Foreign licensure/certification acceptable per policy
