Baptist Health Shelby Hospital in Alabaster, AL is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide compassionate patient care under RN/LPN supervision. The role supports hygiene, mobility, nutrition, and daily activities in a fast-paced hospital setting.

You will document vital signs, assist with admissions and discharges, and help maintain a safe, clean environment. Day-to-day responsibilities include responding to patient needs and ensuring privacy and respectful care.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• One year of nursing assistant work experience within the past five years may be substituted for completion of one of the trainings.
• State of Alabama Certified Nursing Assistant certification; or State of Alabama Licensed Practical Nurse; or Graduate of an approved school of nursing; or Medical Corpsman, EMT, or Paramedic; or licensure/certification for personnel licensed outside the U.S.
• Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification.

Responsibilities

• Assists patients with hygiene, mobility, hydration, elimination, and nutritional needs.
• Provides routine treatments and maintains a safe, clean, neat, and organized patient environment.
• Maintains safety and security of patients, families, self, and other members of the healthcare team.
• Assures patient privacy, rights, and confidentiality.
• Takes and records temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rates, intake and output as directed.
• Assists with admission, transfer, and discharge of patients.
