Nursing Assistant II - General Surgery / Med Surg - ORMC Nights

Join Orlando Regional Medical Center as a Nursing Assistant II in the General Surgery / Med Surg unit. This full-time night shift position offers benefits and requires working three 12-hour shifts per week, including some weekends.

Position Summary

The Nursing Assistant performs patient care under the supervision of the Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse. The unit is a 30-bed post-surgery unit with private rooms, caring for patients across general surgery, colorectal, gastrointestinal, and trauma cases. Responsibilities
  • Assist patients with hygiene, mobility, hydration, elimination, and nutrition.
  • Provide routine treatments and maintain a safe, clean environment.
  • Ensure safety, privacy, and confidentiality of patients.
  • Follow standard precautions and hand hygiene protocols.
  • Assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  • Take and record vital signs and other pertinent patient data.
  • Document patient information accurately and communicate safety concerns.
  • Participate in handoff reports and hourly rounding.
  • Transport items, equipment, and medications throughout the facility.
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required. One year of relevant healthcare experience in the past five years is preferred, but recent graduates of approved nursing or related programs are eligible.

  • Current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification required.
