  • Shift: Days, with some weekend shifts required
  • Hours: 7am - 7pm, three shifts per week
Position Summary

The nursing assistant performs patient care under the supervision of the Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse.

Orlando Regional Medical Center's General, Trauma, Colon and Rectal Surgery Unit is a 30-bed post-surgery unit with private rooms. It provides an environment for nurses to grow and develop, caring for patients across the general surgery continuum, including acute pre- and post-operative general, colorectal, gastrointestinal surgery, and traumatic injury patients.

Responsibilities

Essential functions include assisting patients with hygiene, mobility, hydration, elimination, and nutrition; providing routine treatments; maintaining a safe environment; ensuring patient privacy; following safety protocols; assisting with admissions, transfers, discharges; taking vital signs; documenting patient information; recognizing safety concerns; participating in handoffs and rounding; providing exceptional care; maintaining a clean unit; handling communication and transport tasks; and limited access to medication areas.

Qualifications

Education/Training:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year of nursing assistant experience in the past five years or relevant training such as CNA, LPN, nursing graduate, medical personnel, or international licensure

Licensure/Certification:

  • Current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification

Experience:

  • One year relevant healthcare experience in the past five years or none if recently trained or graduated from an approved nursing program
