Job summary

South Shore Health in Weymouth, MA, seeks a Nursing Assistant II to provide direct patient care across nursing areas and assist with patient transport. The NA II will perform phlebotomy, document services, and serve as a Patient Observer when needed, under RN guidance.

Responsibilities include monitoring patient status, responding to acuity changes, and maintaining safety and procedural compliance. Requires BLS, basic terminology knowledge, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• Previous Nursing Assistant or equivalent experience preferred.
• BLS - Basic Life Support.
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Ability to communicate effectively and document information accurately.
• Ability to deal efficiently and effectively with a wide variety of individuals.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under supervision of licensed personnel.
• Observe, obtain and report patient data/status to RN.
• Respond to acuity changes as directed by nursing staff.
• Maintain current knowledge/certification and act as a preceptor to new employees.
• Promote a culture of safety and follow privacy and security policies.
• Utilize department software and operate in downtime.
