Job summary

Bayhealth Nursing Assistant I - Med-Surg 4B is a patient-facing role on the Med-Surg unit, with shift coverage Day/Evening. The position supports licensed staff under supervision to deliver direct patient care and basic nursing tasks to diverse age groups.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED, active CNA certification, and BLS. Training in CNA/MA/PCT and a Clinical Lab Simulation with transcript is required. 1+ year of direct patient care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Credentials: BLS certification.
• Completed CNA/MA/PCT training.
• Clinical Lab Simulation with official transcript.
• Active CNA certification (any state).

Responsibilities

• Follows nursing assistant plan of care established by the Registered Nurse within a specified timeframe; including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, ambulating, transfers, vital signs, I&O documentation.
• Performs duties with the knowledge to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served on the unit.
• Maintains a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients and families.
• Communicates patient information to a professional nurse promptly.
• Responds to intercom or call lights in a timely, courteous manner.
• Performs patient care per guidelines for diagnostic/therapeutic exams.
• Performs safety and suicide precaution sitter duties as assigned.
• Assists other nursing team and ancillary departments as requested.
• All other duties as assigned.

Education

High School Diploma or GED

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

CNA/MA/PCT training completed

Clinical Lab Simulation (official transcript)

Active CNA certification (any state)
