Job summary

Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center is seeking a Nursing Assistant I for full-time day shifts (6am–7pm) in the Surgical Access unit. The role partners with physicians and nurses to deliver essential nursing services, including bathing, meals, mobility, and basic treatments, ensuring a positive patient and family experience.

The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, BLS certification, and ideally CNA experience or prior medical-surgical/long-term care exposure.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• BLS certification is required.
• CNA strongly preferred.
• Prior medical-surgical/long-term care experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supports nursing staff in direct patient care and assists patients with daily activities.
• Serves and collects food trays and provides between-meal nourishment.
• Changes bed linen and prepares/sterilizes treatment trays and supplies.
• Transports patients within the facility for consultations, treatments, tests, or examinations.
• Measures and records vital signs (temperature, pulse) and provides basic treatments.
• Maintains a safe care environment for patients and families.
• Conducts continuous rounds and check-ins to address patient and family needs.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
