The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking Nursing Assistants to join the VA Northern California Health Care System. The position supports the nursing care team across preventive, acute, and chronic care, under RN/LPN direction, with emphasis on patient comfort and safety.

Intermittent work schedule, with rotating tours including weekends and holidays; RN supervision and documentation in medical records are required. English proficiency and basic nursing knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Citizenship: U.S. citizen.
• Six months of general experience or related education/training.
• Ability to acquire knowledge and skills for nursing assistant work.
• English language proficiency required for nursing positions.
• GS-05 level requires one year of related experience and KSAs.

Responsabilités

• Assist licensed staff in patient care across care settings.
• Perform activities of daily living and support treatment plans.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team.
• Observe and report patient status changes to supervisor promptly.
• Utilize equipment for nursing procedures and infection control.
