Summa Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant for the full-time 7a-7p shift on the H5 Medical/Surgical Unit. The role supports the patient care team by providing direct patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.

Every other weekend and rotating holidays apply. Candidates must complete Summa orientation and certification for the role, demonstrate teamwork, and maintain a patient-centered approach to care across ages, with the ability to stand, lift, and

Summary

Summary of Position:

Supports the patient care team by performing multifunctional activities such as direct patient care, under the direction of a Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, and administrative/clerical support.

Minimum Qualifications

• Formal Education Required:
• Proven ability to read and write English, follow written and oral instructions, and perform basic mathematical functions
• Experience & Training Required:
• Completion of Summa's orientation and Summa's certification for the role
• Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:

• Ability to provide necessary care for patients (i.e. neonate/newborns, children, adolescents, young adults, middle-age adults, and geriatric adults) as required by position.
• Assumes accountability for demonstrating behaviors consistent with the customer service policy.
• Level of Physical Demands:
• Heavy: Exerts 50-100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or ten to 20 pounds of force continuously to move objects.
• Exposure to blood and body fluids and sharps; risks to falls, strains, contagious diseases, etc.
