As a Nursing Assistant with the VAMHCS GEC, you will perform a wide range of resident care, restorative services, treatment, and charting activities. Duties may be in outpatient, inpatient, home, or community care settings, caring for patients with acute to chronic conditions. The NA provides safe, individualized nursing care, promoting dignity and respecting resident preferences, addressing physical, emotional, rehabilitative, and spiritual needs, including personal hygiene, comfort, nutrition, and skin integrity.
Applicants may be tentatively selected pending completion of educational or certification requirements. Basic requirements include U.S. citizenship, six months of general experience or equivalent education/training, and proficiency in English.
Shift work, physical activity such as bending, walking, lifting, and repositioning, and the ability to intervene in patient care situations are required.
