Methodist Hospital is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to join our General Surgery Adult/Peds team. You will provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and support the care team with bedside assistance and comfort measures.

The position offers .7 FTE with rotating day and overnight shifts, including every other weekend. Current Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry status is required, or enrollment as an LPN student or junior nursing student with first-quarter

Position Summary:

The Nursing Assistant provides direct patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse, utilizing their skill and expertise to complement other health care providers.

Department Summary:

General Surgery Adult/Peds (4W) is a medical/surgical unit that cares for both pediatric and adult patients. There are 28 inpatient beds, 7 of which are in a secured area for pediatric patients but can be used interchangeably for pediatric or adult patients based on the need. For adults, we specialize in post-operative care after general surgeries including bariatric weight-loss procedures, colorectal, urogynecology, among others. For pediatric patients, we care for many common medical conditions such as bronchiolitis, pneumonia, sepsis, asthma, diabetes, etc. Using a team-based approach, 4W handles its complex patient variety with integrity, compassion, and skill.

Work Schedule:

.7 FTE - Rotating day and overnight shift with every other weekend (8-hour shifts)

Required Qualifications:

All candidates must be current on the State of Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry OR be an LPN student or a Jr. level nursing student, which means completion of first quarter clinicals with an accredited RN or LPN program.

Preferred Qualifications:

Currently validated CPR skills preferred
