Telemetry Unit:

Baptist Health Louisville has eight Telemetry/Medical-Surgical units in the main hospital. Each unit consists of 21 private rooms. The staff provides intermediate-level care for adult and geriatric patients with various medical diagnoses. All units foster teamwork, allowing nurses to meet patient needs effectively. They deliver high-level, fast-paced, patient- and family-centered care. ACLS certification is required for all staff. New graduates are welcome to apply.

Job Summary:

The Nurse Assistant supports nursing staff by performing selected nursing procedures and routine duties in patient care. All functions are within the scope of training and instruction received and are supervised by a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

The following summarizes the major functions of this role. Additional duties, both major and minor, may be performed, and specific functions may change over time.

1. Provide basic physical care.
2. Assist patients with nutritional needs.
3. Assist patients with activities as designated.
4. Maintain a safe environment according to policy and procedure.
5. Perform and document procedures as per hospital policy.
6. Participate in unit responsibilities.

Minimum Education, Training, and Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• CNA certification preferred.
• BLS certification required.
